The viewership for the August 27th edition of SmackDown has been revealed. The show was watched by 2.250 million viewers last Friday. The numbers have been obtained from Brandon Thurston at Wrestlenomics:
As noted by Thurston, this is the highest viewership for the blue brand since WWE returned to touring at the Money in the Bank go-home show on July 16th. The August 20th show saw 2.102 million viewers watch the go-home show for SummerSlam. The show also saw a strong rating in the 18-49 age demographic, with a rating of 0.59, equating to 764,000 viewers.
The show focused on the fallout from the events of SummerSlam, which included the return of Becky Lynch to WWE TV. Also on the show, Roman Reigns’ next challenger for his Universal Championship may be set. The Tribal Chief was confronted by Finn Balor to close out the show.
