R-Truth Makes Shock Return At WWE Money In The Bank, Attacks John Cena

R-Truth is back in WWE less than one week after he announced his shock departure from the company.

Making his shock return in the main event of Money in the Bank, Truth attacked John Cena to get revenge on what happened the last time they were in the ring togther. With the referee distracted, Cena looked to take advantage by striking Rhodes with the Undisputed Championship belt. Shortly afterwards, a hooded figure attacked Cena. Truth then took off the hood and received a massive ovation from the LA crowd. Truth then made his way through the crowd as Rhodes capitalised to pin Rhodes and win the match.

Speaking at the post-show press conference, Triple H was asked about the return and responded that it was all part of the show:

“I love the question. Did you enjoy the show?,” Triple H asked. “All part of the show, man.”

R-Truth announced he would be leaving WWE on June 1st as his contract was not going to be renewed. The move sparked mass backlash online with fans calling for his return.

Further details on Truth’s return have been reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful SelectDespite what some believe, Fightful first reports that Truth’s announced departure was not part of a storyline. In terms of the return, sources have claimed that Ron Killings has signed a new deal, which looks to be confirmed as there is now a Ron Killings shirt on WWE Shop.

When reporting about the negotiations, Fightful also adds that Truth ignored many of WWE’s approaches, but Nick Khan was integral in helping to work out a new deal. In regards to Triple H’s comments on the post-show, many have outright claimed the opposite, with one verteran stating “I can tell he [Triple H] doesn’t like it.”
