Penta and Je’Von Evans are the new World Tag Team Champions in what was their first title match as a team.
The duo defeated The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Austin Theory to win the titles at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. The closing moments of the match saw Bronson Reed try to provide interference. However, a returning Oba Femi neutralised Reed. Femi and Reed brawled on top of the entrance ramp and Femi launched Reed off the stage and through a table below. Breakker was then distracted by Femi, allowing the babyfaces to capitalise. Following a Mexican Destroyer and OG Cutter, Evans pinned Theory to win the titles.
The victory brings The Vision’s time as champions to an end at 124 days. Breakker and Theory defeated The Street Profits on an episode of Raw on July 6 after first losing the titles to Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins on the June 22 Raw. That match took place at the O2 Arena in London.
Penta And Je’Von Evans Win Tag Titles For First Time In Their Careers
The victory marks the first time that Penta and Evans have held tag team gold in WWE. However, Penta has also been a tag champion in multiple promotions prior with his brother Rey Fenix. Penta is also a former Intercontinental Champion and the holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase. For Evans, this is his first championship reign since signing with WWE. The Young OG failed to win any titles while in NXT.
This was the only title match to take place on the show.
