Paige, formerly known as Saraya in AEW, is set to make her return to WWE at WrestleMania 42 and be part of a championship match at the event.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the British wrestler has signed a new deal with the company and will be a part of the 4-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Paige is scheduled to replace Nikki Bella, who has not been cleared to compete after suffering an ankle injury. The other teams that will be in the match are champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
At the time of writing, WWE have not addressed Nikki Bella’s status, nor have they confirmed that she will not be a part of the match on WrestleMania 42 night 1.
Paige Set To Make Long-Awaited Return At WrestleMania 42
The former Divas Champion has not competed inside a WWE ring since late 2017. After returning from neck surgery, Paige competed in a handful of matches, but an accident at a live event caused her to once again take time away. After announcing her retirement after WrestleMania 34 and leaving WWE in 2022, Paige made her AEW debut later that year under the name Saraya. Competing in 27 matches for the company, Saraya captured the Women’s Championship at the first All In at Wembley Stadium.
In the spring of 2025, Saraya announced that she had left AEW to pursue other projects outside of wrestling, sparking speculation that a WWE return may be on the cards. In multiple interviews following her exit, Paige spoke about a potential WWE return and which name she would like to use.
