A new match has been added to WWE Backlash.
Becoming the new Undisputed Champion with a monumental victory at WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes will defend his championship for the first time at a Premium Live Event as the title will be on the line on May 4th. On the April 19th episode of SmackDown, AJ Styles defeated LA Knight to become the new number one contender and will face Rhodes in Lyon.
On the Raw after WrestleMania, Jey Uso won a fatal 4-way match to become the new number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. The match will take place at Backlash and will also be Damian Priest’s first defence following his successful cash-in at WrestleMania 40.
Following Tama Tonga’s arrival on SmackDown, the newest member of The Bloodline targeted Kevin Owens. With Owens having backup in the form of Randy Orton, the duo will go to war with The Bloodline once more.
Jade Cargill will challenge for her first championship at Backlash. Aligning herself with number 1 draft pick Bianca Belair, the duo will challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championships in Lyon, France.
