New Champions Crowned In Chaotic WWE WrestleMania Tag Team Ladder Match

New WWE champions were crowned at WrestleMania 40.

The WWE Tag Team Championships are no longer unified.

At WrestleMania 40, A-Town Down Under and The Awesome Truth are the new Tag Team Champions, splitting the titles for the first time in nearly 2 years.

Finn Balor and Damian Priest had the odds stacked against them as they defended both Tag Team Championships in a six-pack ladder match against A-Town Down Under, The New Day, DIY, The Awesome Truth and New Catch Republic. Chaos was advertised and delivered with bodies flying everywhere and R-Truth believing that he was in a traditional tag team match as he requested the hot tag and went for the pin. While as delirious as ever, the Philadelphia crowd loved Truth’s antics and he is probably the only member of the WWE roster who can get away with this.

As it looked as if The Awesome Truth and DIY would form an alliance and each grab a championship, Grayson Waller and Austing Theory spoiled the party and grabbed the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The celebration was short-lived as they were driven through a ladder for their troubles. The action continued at full speed with wrestlers crashing through tables and an air raid crash off the top of a ladder.

JD McDonagh would provide interference to provide a brief assist to The Judgment Day but was pushed off a ladder and went crashing to the outside through a table. With no one left to interfere, R-Truth climbed the ladder to unhook the Raw Tag Team Championships and win at WrestleMania for the first time in his career.

Triple H Kicks Off The Biggest WWE Show In History

A sold-out crowd packed into Lincoln Financial Field on a chilly Saturday evening to watch WrestleMania 40 live and in person. Before the first match got underway, Triple H appeared live to address the Philadelphia crowd.
