More details have been provided regarding the upcoming WWE 2K25 release.
On January 27th, it was revealed that WWE 2K25 would be released in March with Roman Reigns as the cover star for the standard edition. Additionally, the deluxe Deadman and Bloodline editions were also confirmed with The Undertaker being the cover star for the Deadman edition and current and former Bloodline members being featured on the other edition.
On January 28th, 2K Games officially announced what players can expect from the upcoming title and how each version will differ, which has some exciting new and returning features.
WWE 2K25: What You Need To Know
The biggest new feature added to the game will be the inclusion of The Island, which is described as an “immersive WWE-themed world, complete quests, take on challenges, compete in live events, and upgrade and customize your MySUPERSTAR through multiple storyline chapters. Fight to join “The Original Tribal Chief”, Roman Reigns at the Head of the Table.” Those who have played the NBA games in the 2K series may find similarities to The City feature that is in the franchise.
Confirming that the Showcase mode will feature the story of The Bloodline, players will relive the careers of some of the most important members of the family. Narrated by Paul Heyman, the game promises the opportunity to change the results of iconic matches and alter the course of history in the process:
Featuring Roman Reigns, The Rock, Yokozuna, Jacob Fatu, and more, relive historic showdowns or flip the script and change the outcome of select match-ups. Plus, experience dream matches between members of the Bloodline and WWE Superstars and Legends.
Along with a new Showcase comes new matches, one of which will be very interesting for veteran gamers as intergender matches will be included in a WWE game for the first time since 2009. Other new match types added include the popular Underground match that has been featured on NXT TV and the chaotic Bloodline Rules that headlined WrestleMania 40 at SummerSlam 2024.
As part of a first look, a still of the Underground match was recently uploaded to social media.
