Dominik Mysterio is dealing with a legitimate injury, causing his next title defence to be delayed.
The reigning Intercontinental Champion was originally set to put his title on the line against AJ Styles at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28. However, on the final episode of Raw before the Premium Live Event, General Manager Adam Pearce informed Styles that the match would not be happening as Mysterio was injured.
With no further specifics on the injury provided and with Mysterio being spotted later in the broadcast, some fans theorised that the injury was a cover-up. With the ongoing unrest in the Middle East remaining, the possibility of the Saudi Arabian show being targeted has increased substantially, causing many to speak out and call for Night of Champions to be cancelled altogether. With this in mind, there has been speculation that Mysterio and/or Styles may have decided not to take part in the upcoming show, causing the change to the card. However, a new report has provided further details on the injury.
