More Details On Kazuchika Okada's AEW Deal

Kazuchika Okada has joined AEW and has received a massive bump in pay in the process.

The New Japan legend made the surprise appearance on the March 6th episode of Dynamite and aligned himself with The Young Bucks following an attack on Eddie Kingston. As reported by Fightful Select, expect to see Okada more frequently than some may have expected as his deal will be a full-time deal with AEW and intends to relocate to the United States.

The angle has been planned for a long time, with the Okada segment being planned months ahead of time. In regards to the salary that Okada is being paid, Tokyo Sports reports that Okada has signed a deal with $4.5 million a year and is on a 3-year deal.

Did Kazuchika Okada Ever Speak With WWE?

Although Okada’s AEW debut was long expected as reports stated The Rainmaker would be All Elite imminently, there were rumours about a possible shock signing with WWE when news first broke that Okada’s contract would not be renewed by New Japan. In regards to any talks with the sports entertainment juggernaut, Fightful Select reports that WWE claims there were no talks between either side, but Okada did talk with WWE talent.

Okada will be in action on the March 9th episode of AEW Collision, which has been pre-taped.
