MJF Ends Bidding War Of 2024

MJF has made his decision.

The AEW World Champion has made it clear ever since he won the title one year ago that he had no allegiance to AEW and was going to whichever promotion paid the highest. However, the storyline was quietly mentioned less and less as the face turn came around in the summer, and now the reason behind it may have been revealed.

As reported by Haus of Wrestling, those within WWE believe that MJF has re-signed with AEW, with another going as far as to say there have been “zero talks” between either side. Further more, it is noted that the bidding war is a “false narrative” and the World Champion is under contract until at least 2027:

“I was told a while ago he is under a long-term deal, which is why they stopped pushing the 2024 stuff.”

AEW sources have been reached out to but have yet to comment.

MJF Looks To Close Out 2023 As AEW Champion

Following a successful defence at Full Gear against Jay White, MJF only has a few weeks left to hold onto the title for the rest of the year. While defences of the Triple B could be arranged for regular episodes of Dynamite and Collision, there will likely be defences on the Winter is Coming special of Dynamite and the World’s End pay-per-view on December 30, which will be in MJF’s hometown of Long Island.
