Michael Cole Elaborates On New WWE Deal And Raw On Netflix

Michael Cole will be a part of the WWE family for years to come.

Approaching 30 years in the company, Cole has called some of the biggest moments in modern WWE history and has been a mainstay on weekly TV and pay-per-views having only missed 3 shows in his lengthy tenure, the most recent being the October 18th episode of SmackDown. Although Cole’s calls under the heavily produced Vince McMahon era were lamentable at times with forced phrases and confusing explanations being forcibly instructed by the boss, the new era has seen the announcer revitalised and able to work without restrictions, a move that the fans have praised.

Back in August, Brian Curtis of The Ringer noted that Cole would be calling the action for an extended period as he recently signed a new contract:

This spring, Cole signed a new contract that will keep him as the voice of WWE for the foreseeable future.

Michael Cole Confirmed For Netflix

In a new interview with Sal Licata of WFAN, Cole confirmed that his deal is for “a few more years” while adding that he will be making the jump back to Raw in January when the show moves to Netflix:

“I still feel like I have a lot left in me. I just signed a long-term deal with the company, I’ll be doing this for a few more years. I’ll be back on Netflix doing Monday Night Raw in January,”

Cole will reunite with Pat McAfee in the new year as part of the Netflix era of Raw. Current Raw announcer Joe Tessitore will move to SmackDown with it currently being unknown what the full line-up will be in the new year.
