Matt & Jeff Hardy Meet With WWE Prior To SummerSlam

Matt & Jeff Hardy met with WWE the day before SummerSlam.

Matt & Jeff Hardy have been spotted in Cleveland, Ohio ahead of SummerSlam.

As first reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the legendary tag team were spotted in town and met with WWE “very early” on Friday, August 2nd. While the initial report was not aware of what specifics were discussed in the meeting, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that The Hardys were in town for WrestleCon and “were invited to film interviews and content.” It is also added that some of the interviews are for a series while others are possibly for Hardy-specific programming.

Sources within WWE told Fightful that “there wasn’t too much to read into it” while others stated that they expect Matt and Jeff to make an appearance in the company at some point.

Matt & Jeff Hardy Free To Appear For WWE As Soon As Possible

Beginning with Matt Hardy choosing to not sign a new deal with AEW back in April and later making a shock appearance at TNA Rebellion later in the year, Jeff Hardy also elected to explore Free Agency and joined his brother in TNA immediately after his contract expired at TNA Against All Odds. Both wrestlers are not signed to TNA and remain free agents.

Both stars have had multiple runs in WWE over their careers, with the brothers making a triumphant return at WrestleMania 33, which received a thunderous ovation from the live crowd. The Hardys were inserted into the tag team ladder match and won the tag titles in their return match.
