WWE have announced multiple matches for their next pay per view, Money in the Bank. Two championship matches have been made official along with participants for the signature ladder matches. The announcements were made on the June 21st episode of RAW, which was the first edition of the red brand following the Hell in A Cell pay per view the night before.
In a rematch from Hell in A Cell, Rhea Ripley will face Charlotte Flair. The previous clash for the RAW Women’s Championship ended in disqualification. Ripley lost the match by DQ, but kept her title due to champions advantage. WWE official Sonya Deville has granted the rematch to take place on July 18th.
Another match that has been confirmed is for the WWE Championship. As champion Bobby Lashley was successful at Hell in A Cell, Drew McIntyre can no longer challenge for the title. A new challenger emerged on RAW, who is also a former WWE Champion. Kofi Kingston laid down the challenge to be next in line for the WWE Championship, which Lashley accepted. Following the events of RAW, Kofi may have to face Bobby Lashley with no one at ringside. This is due to the vicious attack on Kingston’s friend Xavier Woods inside of Hell in A Cell:
Finally, multiple contestants for both the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank matches have qualified. The winner of each of these ladder matches gains a contract. The contract can be used to obtain a championship match at any time. Each contestant has earned the right by being successful in their qualifying matches on the past episode of RAW. For the men’s ladder match, Ricochet, Riddle and John Morrison have all qualified. Nikki Cross, Alexa Bliss, Naomi and Asuka have each qualified for the Women’s version of the match.
Money in the Bank will take place at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The show will have live fans in attendance at the event. With the exception of WrestleMania 37, this will be the first time that fans will be live in attendance since Elimination Chamber back in March 2020.
