Mariah May Given New Name On WWE NXT

Recent WWE signee Mariah May will now be known by a new name moving forward.

A video package aired on the June 10th episode of NXT that saw the former AEW Women’s Champion officially introduce herself to the NXT fan base. Still known as The Glamour”, May was first seen sitting in a bath before getting ready. Following a brief pause, May’s new name was confirmed to be Blake Monroe.

The former Mariah May made her shock debut the week before, interrupting a segment involving NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and members of the women’s division who all wanted the first shot at the champion. Monroe cut a promo and commentary were stuned by her arrival, but her name was not mentioned, speculating that a name change was coming.

May finished up with AEW earlier in the year after losing to Toni Storm at AEW Revolution.

Mariah May Is No More As New Name Is Official

Although WWE has signed multiple former AEW stars over the past couple of years, not everyone has undergone a name change following their arrival. The likes of Penta, Rey Fenix, Jade Cargill and Ethan Page have all kept their names, while Ricky Starks was repackaged as Ricky Saints and Mariah May will now be known as Blake Monroe.

It was also reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select ahead of time that the former May was listed as Blake Monroe.
