A new champion was crowned at WWE X AAA Worlds Collide, meaning that they now hold 2 championships accross both promotions.
In the main event of the show, which took place shortly after the September 12 edition of SmackDown went off the air, Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defeated El Hijo del Vikingo to win the AAA Mega Championship for the first time in his career.
Thanks to help from both The Judgment Day and El Grande Americano, Mysterio won the match after hitting the frog splash onto Vikingo. After the match, Hall of Famer and Dominik’s father, Rey Mysterio, came to the ring, to which Dom demanded that his father put his newly won title around his waist. Rey reluctantly agreed and was then kicked out of the ring by the new champion as Dom celebrated with The Judgment Day and Americano.
This was the only title change to take place on the show as El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Psycho Clown and Pagano all retained their respective championships.
What Else Happened At WWE X AAA Worlds Collide?
The second show as part of the WWE and AAA partnership, saw stars from the main roster and NXT all in acion along with Natalya now becoming the number one contender for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.

- El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Dragon Lee, Ethan Page, and JD McDonagh to retain the AAA Latin American Championship
- Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice defeated Finn Balor and Roxanne Perez
- Psycho Clown and Pagano defeated Kofi Kingston and Grayson Waller to retain the AAA Tag Team Championship
- Natalya defeated Faby Apache to become the number one contender to the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship
- Mascarita Sagrada, La Parka, Laredo Kid, and Octagon Jr. defeated Mini Abismo Negro, Lince Dorado, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde
