Luke Menzies [Ridge Holland] Excited For National Wrestling League Launch & UK Return

Luke Menzies, formerly known as Ridge Holland in WWE, is set to return to the UK later in the year as part of The National Wrestling League.

Menzies will represent the Yorkshire Titans as part of the new project, which combines pro wrestling with the rules of football. Menzies, who is originally from the West Yorkshire town of Liversedge, is looking forward to helping the upstart promotion grow.

Speaking with F4WOnline about the new project, the former WWE star spoke about the new league, which will have its debut show in Newcastle on August 9:

“The National Wrestling League will be kind of like a pretty much a coming out party, and I’m really looking forward to it. You know, getting there and getting my hands dirty and obviously helping it grow.”

The Yorkshire Titans will be managed by former WWE wrestler D’Lo Brown. Rampage Brown has also been confirmed to be a part of the Yorkshire squad alongside Menzies. More players will be confirmed for the league closer to the debut date.

Luke Menzies Optimistic Over Unique National Wrestling League Concept

The National Wrestling League will see teams face off in 15-minute matches, which could be competed in singles or tag team formats. Similar to football rules, whoever scores the most points within the time limit will win the match and earn league points for their respective teams. Similar to Iron Man rules in pro wrestling, points can be awarded via pinfall, submission, count-out or DQ.

The teams will compete in the round robin format, and the top teams will advance to the finals. The final fixture will be played in London at a date and venue to be confirmed.

Speaking about the concept, Menzies noted that it is perfect for the UK market given the country’s love of football. Menzies also hoped that the league could expand internationally:

“It’s just interesting, you know, obviously kind of like a group stage, tournament style. Obviously, we’ve got a few teams now. I’m sure there are some more names to be announced as well, but it’s just exciting. It’s something different, and I think obviously something that brings football and wrestling together.”

“I think (the NWL) is ready made for success in Britain and, hopefully, it will bleed over into international markets as well. I just think it’s something exciting to be a part of, and I’m looking to add some value to that as well, and then help it kick off in a big way.”

The Yorkshire wrestler also quipped that he would likely be the first player to receive a yellow or red card for not following the rules.

Menzies has not competed in a match since September 2025. Wrestling against Moose on TNA Impact, the former Ridge Holland suffered a Lisfranc injury. Menzies, who was under WWE contract during this time, was informed in November that his contract would not be renewed. Menzies then went public with his issues surrounding the nature of his departure.

Other notable names also signed up for the league include UK standout Grado and former AEW wrestler Jake Hager.
