Line-Up Announced For January 7 AEW Dynamite

A lights out match, a legendary return and more have been announced for the January 7 episode of AEW Dynamite.

New World Champion MJF opened the December 31 episode of Dynamite, but was interrupted by multiple challengers who wanted to be first in line for a shot at the title. Following an altercation that saw Adam Page and Swerve Strickland take out security, The Opps interrupted the unlikely duo. Following a back-and-forth, it was made official that Page and Strickland would take on Hook and Powerhouse Hobbs in a lights-out match, meaning that anything goes.

Also on the December 31 Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin stared down Continental Champion Jon Moxley. Benjamin will face Mox on the show, and will receive a future title match if he can defeat the Continental Champion.

Toni Storm and Marina Shafir have crossed paths multiple times over the past few weeks, including as part of a multi person match back at World End. Storm and Shafir are set to go one on one on the next Dynamite.

In a very positive update from All Elite Wrestling, legendary announcer Jim Ross will also make his return to the announce desk. Ross has missed a number of AEW events in recent months after battling various health issues, but has noted on his podcast that he hoped to be back soon.

The Following Has Been Announced For The January 7 AEW Dynamite:

  • The Opps (HOOK & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland – Lights out match
  • Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin – AEW Continental Championship eliminator match
