The final show of the year, AEW Dynamite presented a New Year’s Smash on December 31 that saw the new World Champion appear live and more!
MJF won the World Championship for a second time at Worlds End in the main event by emerging victorious over Swerve Strickland, Adam Page and former champion Samoa Joe. To celebrate his victory, MJF appeared live on Dynamite.
Additionally, Mercedes Mone put her TBS Championship on the line against Willow Nightingale, and Ricochet put his National Championship on the line against Jack Perry.
AEW Dynamite Results December 31:
- MJF officially kicked off the show. After once again unveiling the Triple B custom championship, MJF mocked the roster before being interrupted by Kenny Omega on the big screen, who said that his title match was coming. Swerve Strickland and Adam Page then interrupted, but were stopped by security. Page and Strickland took out security, and Samoa Joe appeared on the big screen. Page and Strickland agreed to fight Hook and Powerhouse Hobbs next week in a lights out match.
- Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia and Marina Shafir defeated Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Toni Storm.
- Bandido defeated The Beast Mortos.
- Brody King defeated Lee Johnson.
- Darby Allin said that he wanted to be World Champion in 2026, but first needed to take out the last Deathrider, PAC.
- Jon Moxley defeated Josh Alexander. Shelton Benjamin stared down Moxley after the match.
- Ricochet defeated Jack Perry to retain the National Championship.
- Willow Nightingake defeated Mercedes Mone to become the new TBS Champion.
