LA Knight Teases Untold Brock Lesnar Royal Rumble Story: "Things Went Differently Than They Were Supposed To"

LA Knight has admitted that there is more to the story of him eliminating Brock Lesnar from the 2026 Royal Rumble match.

Entering the match at number 22, Lesnar’s appearance in the Rumble match was one of his more forgettable. After eliminating Oba Femi, Ilja Dragunov and Rey Fenix, Lesnar was thrown over the top rope as Jey Uso was making his entrance. While WWE cameras did not catch the elimination, fan footage saw Lesnar seemingly tell Cody Rhodes and Knight to throw him out at this point.

With Lesnar being a 2-time Royal Rumble winner, former World Champion and one of the biggest stars in the company, fans were left underwhelmed by his Rumble exit. However, according to Knight, there will be a different story to tell about that moment down the road.

LA Knight Says Brock Lesnar Plans Changed

While speaking about the moment with Chris Van Vliet, Knight noted that while the story feels too fresh to tell now, it was not the original plan:

“I did. I’ll tell that story someday, but it feels too new and fresh to me. But I’ll just say things went differently than they were supposed to.”

How Much Longer Will LA Knight Wrestle?

Knight, 43, is very aware that he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning. However, with a reduced WWE schedule and stars in their 40s prominently featured in the main event scene, the former US Champion may still have many years left in the industry. When asked if he has thought about how much longer he intends to wrestle, Knight responded that he is good physically:

“All the time. I’m looking at the clock all the time. The funny thing is, physically I could do this for a long time. I’m really good physically. Mentally, I’m just like, I’m gonna snuggle puppies.”

When asked if he wanted to wrestle in his 50s, Knight admitted he did not. However, if the company and the fans wanted it, he would be open to making more sporadic appearances. Knight also said he would return for a Hall of Fame induction, but was unsure if that was a guarantee:

“No! f*ck no. Would I like to be able to come in and maybe do an occasional appearance? Yeah, sure, maybe. But I don’t think I’ve been built up to the point where I can do like an Undertaker-type thing or an Austin thing or something like that. So I don’t think that’s in my future either. So it’s pretty much gonna be at some point when I decide to call it I’m gonna disappear in the sunset, and you’ll just never see me again. I’m not even joking, I’m being dead ass serious. If they decide at some point they get crazy enough to go, we’re gonna put him in the Hall of Fame, sure, I’ll come back do that. But I got a feeling that probably ain’t gonna happen either. But maybe that’s my own feeling of just like never being… No matter where I’ve gone, I’ve always felt underappreciated in the wrestling business, but I don’t know.”

In August 2024, it was reported that LA Knight had signed a new WWE contract. The length of the current deal is unknown.
