WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston has taken to social media to address the events that took place at the 2022 Royal Rumble.
The former WWE Champion has become a highlight reel in the rumble matches over the years with his feats of balance and athleticism to avoid elimination. Unfortunately, at the 2022 Royal Rumble, things did not go to plan. During the match, Kevin Owens through Kingston over the top rope, with the intention of Kofi landing on the barricade. However, as seen in the image posted by Wrestling Inc, both of Kofi Kingston’s feet hit the floor. As the moment was captured on camera, WWE had no choice but to confirm the elimination.
In regards to the spot not going according to plan, The New Day member has said the following:
This is the first time in many appearances that Kofi Kingston has unfortunately been eliminated earlier than planned. The video below shows Kingston’s many impressive and successful Royal Rumble saves.
