Kevin Owens will not be stepping back into the ring for an extended period of time.
The former Universal Champion has not competed on WWE TV since the July 17th episode of Raw, where Owens and Sami Zayn successfully defended the Tag Team Championships against The Judgment Day.
As seen on the July 24th episode of the red brand, Owens was attacked once again by The Judgment Day, distracting Sami Zayn in his match against NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio, allowing the champion to retain the title.
As reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Owens is dealing with a fractured rib, which is why the beatdown angle was seen to write the tag team champion off of TV.
In regards to the status of the tag team championships, this is reportedly set to be addressed by WWE within the next week.
