Joe Hendry Makes Surprise Appearance On WWE NXT

Joe Hendry

Say his name and he appears, NXT believes in Joe Hendry.

The TNA star made a shock appearance on the June 18th episode of NXT as an entrant in the battle royal to crown a new number one contender to Trick Williams’ NXT Championship. Receiving a great reception from the fans in attendance who sang his song in unison, Hendry stated that he would be the winner of the battle royal, defeat Williams and take the title back to TNA and that he would make the world believe.

Unfortunately, Hendry’s time in the match itself was short-lived as he was ganged up on by the rest of the entrants and ultimately eliminated by fellow TNA star Frankie Kazarian. An irate Hendry was seen backstage confronting Shawn Michaels in a digital exclusive video following the quick elimination, stating he will appear on any show.

The match was ultimately won by Je’Von Evans, who will face Williams at the Heatwave Premium Live Event on July 7th.

Joe Hendry Is Latest TNA Star To Appear In WWE NXT

Ever since Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace made a shock appearance on NXT back in May to signify the resurgence of the relationship between WWE and TNA, Hendry’s name has been one that has been highly requested by fans to make an appearance on the Tuesday night show. On June 11th, Cody Rhodes made the announcement to Trick Williams that there would be a battle royal the next week to crown a number one contender and that he should expect to see stars “from different locker rooms” make an appearance, which once again hyped up fans and made them believe that Hendry would be making his NXT debut. Fans got their wish on June 18th and will be hoping that there is more to come.
