After 508 days, Jade Cargill’s TBS Title reign has come to an end.
At the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Cargill defeated Taya Valkyrie to retain the championship, successfully defending the title for the 60th time.
Not content with the result, Cargill issued an open challenge anytime, anywhere. The challenge was accepted immediately after, with a returning Kris Statlander being the one to answer the call. Statlander made quick work of the now former champion, hitting the Big Bang Theory to win the match in under a minute.
The victory gives Statlander her first championship in AEW and is now the second ever TBS Champion. Statlander has been out of action for nearly a year, recovering from an ACL injury.
