Jacy Jayne is now a 2-time NXT Women’s Champion following her victory at Gold Rush week 1.
Jayne defeated Tatum Paxley at the first Gold Rush special on November 18 to win back the title thanks to help from The Culling, who betrayed their former member. The closing moments of the match saw Izzi Dame attempt to help Paxley by bringing a chair and the championship into the match, but Paxley would not use the objects to her advantage. Paxely was then sent to the outside, but Culling members Shawn Spears and Niko Vance blocked her path. Dame then struck Paxley, allowing Jayne to capitalise and hit the rolling encore to win the match.
The victory brings Paxely’s reign to an end at just 23 days. Paxley won the title for the first time in her career back at Halloween Havoc. Paxley now also holds the unfortunate accolade of having the shortest reign in the championship’s history.
Jacy Jayne Joins List Of Multi-Time NXT Women’s Champions
Only 3 other wrestlers have held the NXT Women’s Championship more than once since it was introduced back in 2013. Those were Charlotte Flair, Shayna Baszler and Roxanne Perez.
