In one of the most shocking results in NXT history, Jacy Jayne defeated Stephanie Vaquer to win the Women’s Championship for the first time in her career.
Taking place on the May 27th episode of NXT, Vaquer was attacked by Fallon Henley as the referee was distracted. With Vaquer back in the ring, Jayne delivered the discus punch to win the match and the title, stunning everyone in attendance. Following the victory, ring announcer Mike Rome hesitated before announcing the title change and Vic Joseph also added that he was shocked by what took place. The cameras also showed shots of the shocked crowd as Fatal Influence celebrated Jayne’s victory.
Jayne now adds to her championship record as she was also a 2-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Gigi Dolin.
