An upcoming episode of WWE Raw will be taped overseas.
As issued in a press release by Saudi official Turki Alalshikh, the November 4th edition of Raw will be taped in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia the day prior. The taping will take place the day after the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event on November 2nd and will be broadcast in its regular timeslot:
The WWE CROWN JEWEL & RAW show, set to take place over two consecutive days, This event will be one of the global events hosted by Riyadh Season this year, carrying on its annual tradition featuring a stronger lineup of wrestlers within the most powerful, comprehensive, and diverse entertainment season in the world.
While go-home episodes of SmackDown have been hosted around the world in 2024, this will be the first time that Raw has been taped outside of North America and will also be the first time ever that a taping for the flagship show will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Why Is WWE Raw Being Pre-Taped In Saudi Arabia?
Although multiple Premium Live Events are being hosted around the world on Saturdays, such as the upcoming Bash in Berlin show on August 31st, talent and production crew have been required to fly back to the United States shortly afterwards to attend the fallout taping of Raw. With the roster not needing to attend a taping until SmackDown the following Friday, talent has been given more of an opportunity to rest up from the extensive travel, another positive change under the Triple H era.
It is expected that moving forward, the go-home SmackDown and the fallout episode of Raw will be held at events that will require extensive travel such as Saudi Arabia or Australia.
