Hulk Hogan Death Investigation Concludes, No Evidence Of Wrongdoing

The inquest into the death of Hulk Hogan has now concluded, with it being determined that the WWE icon’s passing was due to natural causes.

On May 5, The New York Post reported that there was “no evidence” of any criminal wrongdoing following an investigation that lasted almost 11 months.  The police wrote in a report on a private autopsy that Hogan died “exclusively from compelling natural disease, with no reasonable traumatic or terminal toxicologic contributions.”

“Following an exhaustive review of the statements, medical records, surveillance footage from within the residence, and a visual inspection of Mr. Bollea’s body,” investigators added in the report, “there has been no evidence to indicate the death of Terry Bollea was anything other than natural. Through the course of the investigation, there has been no evidence to indicate any criminal wrongdoing related to his death. This case will be closed, and will be considered solved, non-criminal.”

Issuing a statement to The California Post, Rob Shaw, a spokesperson for the Clearwater Police Department in Florida, thanked the Hogan family for their cooperation. Investigators also described the case as “an attended natural death.”:

“We want to thank the family of Mr. Bollea — Sky, Nick and Brooke — and their attorney, Kevin Hayslett, for their cooperation,” Shaw said. “Their willingness to allow our investigators access to very personal information, at a time when they were grieving and struggling, was extremely helpful.

“We would not have had the legal justification to obtain much of the information without their cooperation.

Hulk Hogan Inquest Closed Following 2025 Death

Hogan passed away at 71 years old on July 24th, 2025. The Hall of Famer was said to be in rough shape at this time following multiple surgeries. On the day of his passing, Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, was with his wife, Sky Daily, and two healthcare workers when they noticed he had stopped breathing. The report states that Daily called 911, and one of the healthcare workers performed CPR.

Hogan’s daughter Booke called her father’s autopsy into question, adding that one of the nurses who was there on the day of his death had disappeared.

Following Hogan’s passing, WWE paid tribute to the former World Champion on SmackDown and Raw. A docuseries co-produced by WWE was also released on Netflix earlier in the year.
