Gunther has named his 4 picks for the top tier of pro wrestling but has left out the man he recently named as his favourite wrestler.
The World Heavyweight Champion has caught the attention of fans who prefer a more traditional style of in-ring action as well as those who only started watching recently thanks to his hard-hitting style and being able to finish a match with just about any move. Seemingly incapable of having a bad match, The Ring General is easily one of the best of the modern era and will go down as one of the all-time greats when all is said and done. However, when it comes to his own opinion, who does he think is the best?
Speaking with The Sun, Gunther chose the following 4 stars to go on his Mount Rushmore of Wrestling:
“Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kurt Angle, and Eddie Guerrero,”
Gunther Snubs Goldberg
Earlier in the month, Raw aired live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and saw Bret Hart appear live. The Hitman received a great ovation from the live crowd before being interrupted by the World Heavyweight Champion. Mocking Hart’s appearance on the show, The Ring General named Hart as his second favourite wrestler of all time and joked that his favourite was Goldberg, referencing Hart’s animosity to the Hall of Famer. Hart has blamed Goldberg in numerous interviews for bringing his in-ring career to a premature end.
Gunther won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam by defeating Damian Priest. The World Champion is next expected to defend the title against Sami Zayn.
