Gunther has booked his place at WrestleMania 42 after taking out a former World Champion on the latest WWE Raw.
During the March 30 episode of Raw, Gunther put Seth Rollins to sleep as Rollins once again looked for revenge on Paul Heyman. Standing tall over an unconscious Rollins, the former World Champion pointed to the WrestleMania sign, with the match later being made official.
Heyman appeared live in the ring and was informed by General Manager Adam Pearce that all charges against Rollins, and that Rollins had been cleared to compete. The Visionary then struck Heyman in the back with a chair. Rollins then looked to set up for the stomp, but was dragged out of the ring by Gunther.
Gunther Finally Has WrestleMania 42 Match Amid Prior Uncertainty
Even though The Ring General has been on a dominant run over the past few months with victories over John Cena and AJ Styles, the Raw star appeared to be the odd man out when it came to putting together the Mania card. It was previously reported that Gunther was set to face Rey Mysterio at the biggest show of the year, but the WWE Hall of Famer is currently out with injury. It was also speculated that Gunther may face Brock Lesnar in Las Vegas, but Lesnar will be facing Oba Femi.
At WrestleMania 41, Gunther lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso in the opening match of the weekend.
