Goldberg has made his long-awaited return to WWE and his next match has been announced.
The former World Champion appeared live on the June 16th episode of WWE Raw and picked up where he left off with Gunther. The new World Heavyweight Champion spoke about his victory over Jey Uso the previous week and what’s next, which was quickly followed by Goldberg chants from the Green Bay crowd. Despite the fact that Gunther shot down the fan chants, the former World Champion’s music hit and the WCW legend appeared live.
Goldberg first congratulated the champ on his victory before bringing up their previous confrontation back at Bad Blood 2024. Stating that Gunther started something, Goldberg promised to end it at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event special on July 12th. The Hall of Famer stated that Gunther was next, which led to The Ring General retreating out of the ring. Goldberg posed on the turnbuckle to close out the segment.
The match was later made official by WWE, adding that the title would be on the line.
It should be noted that although the Hall of Famer will compete at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it has not been confirmed that this will be the 58-year-old’s final match at the time of writing.
Goldberg To Compete In First WWE Match in 3 Years
The Hall of Famer last competed at Elimination Chamber 2022, losing to Roman Reigns. Following the confrontation with Gunther at Bad Blood, the 4-time World Champion announced that his in-ring career would be coming to an end in 2025.
