John Cena had an eventful day in Springfield.
Guest starring as himself in the season 26 premiere episode Bart’s Birthday, Cena helped Comic Book Guy and Kumiko welcome their first child into the world. As Kumiko goes into labour, Cena bursts into the room and declares himself to be “The only licenced midwife to win 16 WWE Championships” to the delight of the couple and Bart. Helping Kumiko give birth, Cena also does his iconic you can’t see me gesture in front of the newborn.

John Cena was announced ahead of time as one of many guest stars in the opening episode, with other notable names including Conan O’Brien, Davvy DeVito, Tom Hanks, Seth Rogen and Amy Sedaris. Cena joins Bret Hart is the only other wrestler to receive a guest star spot in the animated series.

After more than 2 decades as a professional wrestler and having at least one match in every year of his career, Cena will bring his legendary run to a close in 2025 as he will compete in his final match. While his in-ring career will be over and the Hollywood star has declared that there will never be any physicality again, he will still remain very much involved in the company as an ambassador. Speaking in a recent interview, John Cena confirmed that he had signed a new WWE contract.
Cena will next appear on WWE TV on the first episode of Raw on Netflix, which will air on January 6th 2025.
