First NJPW G1 Climax 36 Semi-Finalists Determined

Two semi-finalists have been determined in the NJPW G1 Climax 36 tournament as the block stages start to wind down.

On August 12, Yota Tsuji and Ryohei Oiwa have booked their spots in the NJPW G1 Climax 36 semifinals. Oiwa defeated 2025 tournament winner Konosuke Takeshita, while Tsuji defeated Jake Lee to make it to the knockout stages. The A block ended in a 3-way tie with the top 3 all on 12 points. However, as Tsuji and Oiwa have both picked up victories over Takeshita in the round robin stage, the AEW star has been eliminated from the contest. Tsuji is also the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

The B Block remains ongoing, with a 5-way tie for the top spot. Currently, Ren Narita, Callum Newman, Gabe Kidd, Yuya Uemura and Drilla Maloney are all at the top of the block.
