EVIL Arrives In WWE On NXT

The rumours were true as former NJPW star EVIL is now a part of WWE.

As seen during the April 28 broadcast of NXT, the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion made his first appearance on WWE TV. NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo spoke about potential challengers for the title, but was also focused on a mystery box that was delivered to him the previous week.

The lights went out and EVIL made his way to the ring. After handing D’Angelo a cloth with the same symbol on as the mystery box, EVIL made his exit. The veteran Japanese wrestler was not referred to by his New Japan name on commentary, but his previous title reign was referenced.

Following the reveal, D’Angelo was attacked by Tavion Heights, who turned heel on the show.

EVIL Now In WWE Following New Japan Exit

The former World Champion’s final singles match in New Japan saw him drop the NEVER Openweight Championships to a debuting Aaron Wolf at Wrestle Kingdom 20. Following his exit, reports indicated that EVIL was set to make his WWE debut next, and had been signed to the promotion for an extended period. EVIL was best known in NJPW for his time as the leader of the House of Torture faction.

Reports also indicated that EVIL is set to receive a new name for his WWE career.
