The WWE roster is more stacked with champions than ever before with 11 current titles up for grabs on the main roster and 6 on the developmental brand, NXT.
The Undisputed Championship remains the most sought-after prize in the company due to its rich lineage and the all-time greats including The Rock, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and Hulk Hogan all reigning with the gold multiple times over their respective careers. However, with the expansion of the roster over the years, including an expanded women’s division following the female roster being treated with more respect, more championships were introduced following the second brand split in 2016. In 2023, WWE later reintroduced the World Heavyweight Championship to give both brands a top champion in recognition of Roman Reigns’ dominant run that began back in the pandemic.
Additionally, developmental brand NXT has also expanded its own championship picture further with men’s and women’s mid-card titles adding more depth to the brand in light of its increase in popularity over the past few years. Following the success of the Women’s North American Title, SmackDown followed with the introduction of the Women’s United States Championship, later followed by the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
