Drew McIntyre Taking Time Away From WWE

Drew McIntyre Taking Time Away From WWE

Drew McIntyre will be off TV until further notice following WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

McIntyre’s most recent match saw him look to bring an end to the rivalry with Damian Priest as both men faced off inside a steel cage. As expected, the match was physical from the outset with McIntyre bringing steel chairs into the ring before the match began.

The match saw Priest emerge the victor by escaping the cage through the door after hitting a con-chair-to onto The Scottish Warrior. With McIntyre down at the end of the match and officials checking on the WWE star, new reports have indicated that it is unknown when the 3-time World Champion will be back on TV.

Drew McIntyre Taking Extended Absence From WWE TV

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McIntyre will be away from WWE for the foreseeable future. It is noted that the former World Champion, who has been working banged up for the past few weeks, finished up his current dates at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It is also noted that the absence was not related to any future Hollywood projects despite the fact that the Scottish wrestler has been previously involved in acting roles. Drew McIntyre also previously noted that he was not 100% and could not turn his neck all the way.

The report about McIntyre taking time away has also been corroborated by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Selectwho also notes that the time off is contractual.
