Cody Rhodes Returns To WWE, Issues Challenge For Money In The Bank

For the first time since WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes appeared on WWE TV and made his intentions clear for Money in the Bank.

The American Nightmare made his return at the Saturday Night’s Main Event special on May 24th, following the main event match between World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and challenger Logan Paul.

Just as it appeared that Uso had the match won, John Cena pulled the referee out of the ring. As Cena beat down Uso, Rhodes’ music hit and the former champion stormed to the ring. Rhodes hit a Cross Rhodes onto Cena while Uso hit a splash onto Paul to pin the social media star and retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Following his victory over R-Truth earlier in the night, Cena met with uso backstage and hinted that he wanted to see Paul become the other World Champion in WWE as it would continue his vicion of ruining wrestling.

While Uso ended the night as champion, his next defence will be on the June 9th Raw against the man he defeated to win the World Heavyweight Championship, Gunther.

Cody Rhodes Lays Down The Challenge For WWE Money In The Bank

As Cena and Paul retreated, Rhodes grabbed the mic and issued the challenge for him and Uso to take on Cena and Paul at Money in the Bank on June 7th.

Back at WrestleMania 41, Rhodes lost the Undisputed Championship to John Cena thanks to a distraction from Travis Scott and Cena striking The American Nightmare with the Undisputed Championship.
