Drew McIntyre is now officially a member of the SmackDown roster.
Making his return to the brand on the February 7th edition of SmackDown, both McIntyre and commentary confirmed that the 3-time World Champion is now a member of the SmackDown roster and was one of the final acquisitions as part of the Talent Transfer Window. McIntyre stated that he was happy that he had moved brands as all the chaos of Raw was behind him. McIntyre then competed in a triple threat match against Jimmy Uso and LA Knight and emerged victorious, meaning that he has qualified for the Elimination Chamber match on March 1st. Prior to the match, Knight referenced the reported animosity surrounding McIntyre and noted that he needed to “get his stuff in.”
Following the Royal Rumble, reports emerged that Drew McIntyre was frustrated with how his elimination occurred and stormed out of Lucas Oil Stadium. Follow-up reports indicated that McIntyre should have been eliminated earlier but extended sequences involving Knight meant that it was delayed. McIntyre and Damian Priest briefly collided with LA Knight and Logan Paul before McIntyre was quickly eliminated from the match.
Also on the show, former Women’s Tag Team Champion Kayden Karter and Katana Chance were seen with General Manager Nick Aldis, who confirmed they were now a part of the SmackDown roster.
