Former WWE Intercontinental Champion D’Lo Brown will represent the Yorkshire Titans as part of the National Wrestling League.
On April 27, The League announced via social media that the 32-year veteran of the ring would serve as the Yorkshire team’s player-manager for the inaugural season. Brown expressed his excitement at being part of the new project, which will debut in the summer of 2026:
“I’ve been around this business a long time, and you learn what it takes to win — and what it takes to lead,” said Brown.
“This is something different, something new, and I’m all in on it.”
A star of WWE during The Attitude Era, Brown captured the European Championship 4 times during his time with the company, along with his singular Intercontinental Title reign.
D’Lo Brown To Manage Yorkshire Titans For First Season
The National Wrestling League will host its first show in Newcastle on August 9 at the Vertu Arena. The Titans will face the Glasgow Hitmen in the opening fixture of the season. Brown, along with the other teams’ managers, will sign 2 wrestlers before the season gets underway. These wrestlers will be unable to swicth teams once signed.
Combining professional wrestling and football, matches will be contested over 15 minutes with a half-time break. Points will be awarded via pinfall, submission, count-out or disqualification. Whichever team has the most points at the end of the time limit will be the winner. Teams will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
Tickets for the opening fixtures can be purchased here.
