Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has been announced as the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The news was broken by Shams Charania of ESPN, who posted the following on social media regarding Rodman’s upcoming honour:
“Crossover: Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April, per ESPN sources. Rodman made his WCW debut in 1997 and famously skipped a practice during the 1998 NBA Finals for a wrestling match alongside Hulk Hogan. Two HOFs for Rodman.”
WWE reposted the statement from Charania, making the newsofficial. The former NBA star made his mark in the pro westling world in 1997 when he joined the nWo stable in WCW. Rodman competed in 3 matches in WCW from 1997-1999. At Bash at the Beach 1997, one year on from Hogan’s historic heel turn, Rodman and Hogan lost to Lex Luger and The Giant. One year later, the duo were victorious over DDP and Karl Malone. Rounding out his trilogy of matches, Rodman lost to Randy Savage at Road Wild 1999.
