Cody Rhodes has once again been asked about The Rock and possible interference from The Final Boss ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Despite winning the 2024 Royal Rumble, The American Nightmare’s road to WrestleMania was anything but easy as the return of The Rock caused massive complications to the main event of WrestleMania 40. Thankfully due to a pivot, Rock instead stepped aside and became an ally of Roman Reigns instead of a potential opponent. Following Rhodes winning the Undisputed Championship in the main event of Mania 40 night 2, Rock congratulated the new champion the next night but warned him that things were not over between them.
Fast forward to Bad Blood and The Rock returned again, seemingly indicating that his return to WWE TV on a more permanent basis is not too far away. Despite the fact that Rock vs. Rhodes looks to be the direction, reports and rumours have also claimed that due to scheduling conflicts, the Hollywood star may not be a part of the Las Vegas show at all.
While speaking with Adrian Hernandez for Unlikely, Rhodes stated that he is aware that a Rock return could still happen and who The Final Boss will be looking for:
“Well, I mean, I mean this and I don’t mean this in a like a smart Alec type way, but Rock is the director of the board. The man that is The Final Boss, Dwayne Johnson, is different from The Final Boss and his outside the box thinking with Nick Khan and Triple H, is part of WWE’s record era, part of this WWE Netflix era so in whether he’s in the ring or whether he’s not, he very much is still very involved with what happens at 41. I know when he comes back, I know who he’ll come looking for, I know what to expect. But what I can say about WrestleMania 41 is keep the rumors going, keep them churning, enjoy the discourse, but i think what you will get will surprise you all.”
Who Would Be The Dream Opponent For Cody Rhodes?
Thanks to his first run in WWE along with stints in NJPW, AEW and on the independents, Rhodes has faced off against some of the biggest stars from multiple eras. However, when asked who his ultimate dream opponent would be, Cody Rhodes only had one name in mind.
H/t to Fightful.
