Cody Rhodes Names WWE Hall Of Famer As Ultimate Dream Opponent

If Cody Rhodes could face off against any wrestler from any era, who would The American Nightmare pick?

Cody Rhodes has named the one wrestler he would have loved to compete against if given the opportunity.

The American Nightmare currently reigns at the top of the WWE division and has already faced off against some of the biggest stars from the modern era and is likely to take on many future household names before all is said and done. In addition to this, Rhodes has also found himself standing across the ring from the likes of Kurt Angle, his brother Dustin and even NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. With Rhodes holding the top title, many in the WWE would likely name him as one of their dream matches right now in an attempt to dethrone the man who beat Roman Reigns. For Rhodes, there is only one name in mind.

While speaking with WLTX News, Rhodes named his dream opponent as a man who he was very familiar with in AEW and a wrestler who is regarded as one of the best to never become a World Champion in WWE:

“So I always, I change my answer so frequently and then people online, this is a polarizing subject. So I always say like the answer is going to change a lot. But I had recently started thinking the way I am as a wrestler and I guess a character and how I fit into WWE, I’d really like to get in there with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. Because Jake The Snake, when he was a bad guy, was really just like psychologically menacing and different. He wasn’t yelling. It wasn’t the like big bombastic 80s promos. He was really sinister, like ahead of his time. But Jake Roberts.”

Cody Rhodes Assesses Recent WWE Change

The roster recently returned from its latest UK tour that was capped off with a show at the brand new Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, which was headlined by the Undisputed Champion. Moving forward, WWE will be reducing its live events as a cost-saving measure and also because the company feels that they are not needed right now due to the popularity of the brand. In a previous interview, Cody Rhodes spoke about the change in WWE events.

H/t to Fightful.
