Grayson Waller will get his dream match next week as he will defend the NXT Championship against CM Punk.
The match was made official following the main event of Halloween Havoc on October 31. After Waller successfully defended the title against Tony D’Angelo, Danhausen interrupted the celebrations. The host said that he had a message from his “close personal friend”, which led to a video from Punk being played in the Performance Center.
Punk said that he had heard what Waller has been saying about him, but wanted to wait until after the main event to speak his mind. Punk added that he didn’t need permission to come to NXT, and would be challenging Waller for the title on November 4.
“You say that NXT is your house? Kid, I’m the landlord. And Wednesday, the rent is due!”
Waller has been saying in multiple interviews that his dream feud would be against Punk. On top of this, Waller has referenced and called out Punk multiple times on social media. On Wednesday, Waller will get his wish!
