CM Punk Reportedly Pitched To Be In AEW Blood & Guts

Could CM Punk join the Blackpool Combat Club?

The brutal AEW stipulation makes its return on July 19th, which will be the third time that the cage match will take place on Dynamite.

The upcoming match is set to conclude the rivalry between The Elite and The Blackpool Combat Club. At the time of writing, each team has 4 entrants, with a mystery 5th partner to be determined.

Representing The Elite will be Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, “Hangman” Adam Page and the 5th partner rumoured to be Kota Ibushi. Representing the BCC will be Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita and a blank space now that Bryan Danielson is out with injury.

In a pitch that no one expected, Fightful Select are reporting that CM Punk has pitched himself to be in the match as part of team BCC. The report states it is unknown whether this was a serious pitch or not.

Despite the drama caused after the All Out 2022 pay-per-view event, Punk would still want to work with The Elite. However, AEW sources have told Fightful that “It wasn’t happening.” One source even went as far to say that “Neither team would want him.”

The report concludes by stating that the line-up for the match has been completed, with both mystery partners now set.
