CM Punk Addresses "We Want Truth" Chants After WWE Raw Goes Off Air

CM Punk heard the chants from the WWE fans and issued a response when the cameras stopped rolling.

On June 1st, R-Truth informed the fans that his time with WWE had come to an end as his contract would not be renewed when it expires. One of the most entertaining and most popular acts on the roster, fans were stunned when they heard the news. Along with many big names from the wrestling world showing their support to Truth, fans called out WWE and TKO over the decision and demanded that Truth be rehired. While there has been fan backlash to releases in the past, the response to Truth’s departure was unprecedented.

Fans chanted “We want Truth” multiple times throughout the June 2nd WWE Raw broadcast, notably during the main event. As seen via fan footage after the show went off the air, Punk acknowledged the chants and jokingly issued the following response:

“How dare you chant for somebody who’s not here.”

The comment from Punk was in reference to the multiple times that his name was chanted on TV during his time away from the company from 2014 until 2023.

CM Punk Fails To Qualify For Money In The Bank

Punk competed in the main event of Raw as he faced AJ Styles and El Grande Americano in the final Money in the Bank qualifying match. The closing moments of the match saw Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed attack CM Punk. Although Jey Uso and Sami Zayn neutralised the interference, Grande Ameriano took advantage of the distraction to pin Styles and advance to the Premium Live Event.
