A title change took place on the July 17th episode of WWE Raw.
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville won their first ever championships in WWE on the show, defeating Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Prior to the match taking place, Rodriguez was attacked backstage by Rhea Ripley, injuring her leg. Despite WWE Official Adam Pearce advising the match be postponed, Rodriguez insisted the match go ahead, which Pearce agreed to.
The match saw Green and Deville attack Morgan from the opening bell. Rodriguez got the hot tag and shifted momentum, but Deville would lock in a Half Boston Crab on the injured leg. After multiple attempts to make it to the ropes, Morgan mercifully broke up the submisssion.
The match ended when Deville pinned Morgan after hitting a running knee to win the match and the championships.
The defeat of Morgan and Rodriguez ends a short reign with the titles, which began at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event on July 1st.
