Charlotte Flair Speaks Out On “Extremely Heated” Tiffany Stratton Match At WrestleMania 41

Charlotte Flair Speaks Out On "Extremely Heated" Tiffany Stratton Match At WrestleMania 41

Charlotte Flair has given her thoughts on the match with Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41, which hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in the weeks leading up to the bout.

After Flair won the Royal Rumble back in February, The Queen chose Stratton as her Mania opponent. Over the next few weeks, things got very personal between the champion and challenger with multiple promo segments going off script, personal jabs at each other’s personal lives, and fans questioning how much of it was approved ahead of time. Following the live broadcasts, multiple segments were also edited with the stronger insults omitted.

While it appeared that Flair was the heavy favourite to win the match and her 15 Women’s Championship, one step closer to matching her father Ric Flair’s record, Stratton ultimately emerged the victor in what was a very physical bout.

Speaking with Rick Ucchino of The Takedown on SIFlair stated that the match was what it needed to be and was happy with the end result:

“I think the match was everything that it needed to be. It definitely got super personal, extremely heated going into WrestleMania,” Flair admitted. “The personal story and how physical it was, the elaborate entrances, we both had our own unique entrance. I thought she showed up and showed out. I thought it was great.”

Charlotte Flair And Tiffany Stratton have Matches Set For WWE Evolution

Although Flair was unable to win the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 41, the SmackDown star does have the opportunity to walk out of Evolution with gold. On the July 4 WWE SmackDown, Flair and Alexa Bliss won their tag team match to advance to the all-women’s Premium Live Event, which will see them be part of a 4-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Also on the July 4 SmackDown, Startton chose Hall of Famer Trish Stratus as her challenger for Evolution.
