WWE star Chad Gable is set to give fans an insight into his road to recovery after suffering a major injury in 2025.
The Raw star suffered a shoulder injury in June that forced him to be sidelined until January 2026. During this time, Gable was also portraying the role of the masked wrestler El Grande Americano.
Having never suffered an injury that has forced him out of action before, Gable has documented his journey back to the ring. On social media, the former Tag Team Champion let fans know that a 9-part series would premiere on June 5, documenting his recovery process:
“I’ve spent my entire career preaching discipline, preparation, and accountability.
Then I got hurt.For the first time in my professional wrestling career, I was forced to stop and figure out who I am when the thing I’ve built my life around gets taken away.
So I’m bringing you with me.

Chad Gable Involved In Feud Of The Year Following Return From Injury
After Gable suffered the injury, it appeared that the El Grande Americano storyline had been paused until further notice. However, shortly afterwards, a new El Grande Americano appeared on TV, who was portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser.
Gable Americano returned from injury at the 2026 Royal Rumble, beginning his feud with Kaiser Americano. While the two men had matches and interactions in WWE, it was AAA where the rivalry became the biggest in the company. With Kaiser Americano becoming the biggest babyface in AAA, both men faced off in a mask vs. mask match at AAA Noche de los Grandes on May 30.
Following an epic match that received acclaim from fans and critics, it was Kaiser Americano who emerged the victor. Gable was unmasked afterwards, receiving a huge ovation from the fans out of respect for his work. Gable originally adopted the mask out of hatred of luchadors, with the storyline stating that he went away to learn “the dark arts of lucha libre.”
While the storyline was originally intended for comic relief, the rivalry evolved into one of the biggest storylines of 2026.
