More Matches Announced For AEW Grand Slam

Bryan Danielson AEW Dynamite Grand Slam

Bryan Danielson will face off against one of his greatest rivals at AEW Grand Slam, if he is cleared to wrestle.

Earlier in the year, Darby Allin won a future opportunity at the AEW World Championship. However, following a confrontation with Jon Moxley on the September 11th episode of Dynamite, Allin’s path has changed as he will instead put up his shot against Mox inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.

With Danielson without a challenger, Nigel McGuinness seized the opportunity and announced that he would be returning to the ring at Grand Slam to take on the World Champion in a non-title match. This will also be McGuinness’s first match since his shock return to the ring back at All In.

Matches announced for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam are as follows:

  • Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness
  • Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin – The winner will become the new number one contender to the World Championship
  • The Young Bucks (c) vs. Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher – Tag team match for the Tag Team Championships

What Happened To Bryan Danielson At AEW All Out?

Following on from Danielson successfully defending the World Championship against Jack Perry at All Out, Jon Moxley attacked his longtime friend and suffocated him with a plastic bag in what was one of many controversial moments to occur on the show.
