Bryan Danielson Out With Injury

Bryan Danielson Out With Injury

Bryan Danielson looks to be out of action for around 2 months.

Wrestling in the main event of Forbidden Door, Danielson defeated Kazuchika Okada via submission, much to the shock of the audience watching. Towards the end of the match, Danielson appeared to be struggling with his right arm, effectively wrestling the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion one handed.

Speaking at the post show press conference, Danielson revealed that it is unlikely that he will be wrestling on the June 28th episode of Dynamite, and believes he will be out for up to 8 weeks:

“I was planning on wrestling on Wednesday this week. I don’t think that’s going to happen because, in this specifically, we think I fractured my right forearm with about ten minutes left to go. Talking to our doctors, and I love the AEW medical staff and trainers, they think it’s going to be six to eight weeks for this specific injury. The stuff after Revolution and the Iron Man match with Max, I had a torn labrum and then some compressed vertebrae. That’s normal wrestler stuff. I’m fine. We just thought, for a precautionary measure,”

Despite the injury, Danielson powered through to finish the match, wrestling for another 10 minutes.

Also at Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to become the new IWGP United States Champion.
