Bryan Danielson once again made a cameo appearance in front of AEW fans, this time competing in his first match in nearly a year, sort of.
After the June 25 edition of AEW Dynamite concluded, All Elite Wrestling pre-taped the next episode of Collision, which will air on June 26. The main event of the show saw Kyle Flecther defeat Kyle O’Reilly.
Following the conclusion of the taping, O’Reilly was about to cut a promo to send the Washington fans home happy when he was interrupted by Max Caster. The former AEW Tag Team Champion then announced that it was time for his Best Wrestler Alive open challenge, which was answered by Danielson.
The American Dragon made his way to the ring and defeated Caster in less than 10 seconds. Adam Cole hit a superkick onto Caster and Danielson locked in the Lebell lock to pick up the submission victory. After the match, Danielson declared that he had joined Paragon for one night only and that he was Kyle Danielson. The former AEW World Champion celebrated with Paragon as Europe’s The Final Countdown played in the arena to send the fans home happy. Fan footage also captured the final moments from the appearance:
The last time that Danielson competed in a full match was back at WrestleDream, which saw him lose the World Championship to Jon Moxley and in the process bring his full-time in-ring career to an end.
Bryan Danielson Makes Second Surprise Appearance For AEW Fans
This was the second time in as many weeks that Danielson has made an unannounced appearance for the AEW crowd. The previous week, Danielson made the save for Luchador Blue Panther following the end of the ROH X CMLL Global Wars taping.
Although Danielson has previously stated that he is not cleared to compete, the 2 cameo appearances will only further the rumours that he might be on course for a return match, especially as AEW’s biggest show of the year, All In: Texas, is just a few weeks away.
